Honorable Ngala Gerard speaks out after a CPDM critic wrote this 👇
A conversation from Donga Mantung community forum (DMCR) is currently trending where a CPDM critic and politician Ta Nfomi Wakaili Pascal analyzed election results and called online trends a "witch-hunt"
After this analysis, Honorable Ngala replied, revealing some details we've never heard before.
This is what Taa Nformi Wakaili Pascal wrote 👇
"Unjust Attacks on Hon. Ngala Gerard: Facts Over Gossip.
There’s a disturbing trend on social media: targeted attacks against Hon. Ngala Gerard, MP for Nkambe Central. His home is being posted online. People are inciting hostility. And all of it is being justified under the guise of election rigging.
Let’s pause and look at the facts.
Nkambe Central Is Not the Problem
Nkambe is the capital of Donga Mantung Division, which has five subdivisions.
In the 2025 presidential election:
- Total votes for Biya in Donga Mantung: 29,219
- Votes for Biya in Nkambe Central: just 4,272
That’s only 14.6% of the division’s total.
So despite the overall surge in turnout, Nkambe Central did not deliver inflated numbers. If rigging were happening in Hon. Ngala’s backyard, the numbers would show it. They don’t.
Voter Turnout Comparison (2018 vs 2025)
Here’s how voter turnout increased across the Northwest Region:
- Boyo: from 363 to 9,775 → increase of 9,412 votes → +2,593.66%
- Bui: from 6,208 to 16,364 → increase of 10,156 votes → +163.71%
- Donga Mantung*: from 10,879 to 40,630 → increase of 29,751 votes → +273.44%
- Menchum: from 765 to 10,520 → increase of 9,755 votes → +1,275.16%
- Mezam: from 9,744 to 169,952 → increase of 160,208 votes → +1,645.45%
- Momo: from 4,287 to 26,317 → increase of 22,030 votes → +513.86%
- Ngo_Ketunjia: from 1,336 to 24,317 → increase of 22,981 votes → +1,720.13%
Donga Mantung has one of the lowest percentage increases in the region.
Biya’s 2025 Vote Scores by Division
Let’s also look at how Biya performed across the Northwest:
- Boyo: 6,614 votes out of 9,775 → 67.66%
- Bui: 13,923 out of 16,364 → 85.08%
- Donga Mantung: 29,219 out of 40,630 → 71.91%
- Menchum: 5,517 out of 10,520 → 52.44%
- Mezam: 155,885 out of 169,952 → 91.72%
- Momo: 21,303 out of 26,317 → 80.95%
- Ngo Ketunjia: 22,727 out of 24,317 → 93.46%
Regional Total – Northwest:
- Total Voters: 297,875
- Biya’s Total Votes: 255,188
- Regional Score: 85.67%
Observation:
While Biya scored 71.91% in Donga Mantung, that translated to just 29,219 votes.
Compare that to Mezam, where he scored 91.72%, yielding a massive 155,885 votes.
Mezam alone gave Biya more than five times what Donga Mantung did.
So again, why is Hon. Ngala Gerard being singled out?
This Isn’t About Elections. It’s About Envy and Score-Settling
Many of the complaints online aren’t about ballots. They’re about lifestyle.
He’s a businessman. He lives well. He drives a nice car. And somehow, that’s become a crime.
Let’s ask the real questions:
- Is Gerard the only MP?
- Is he the only one who lives comfortably?
- Should we punish MPs for their lifestyles ?
- Shouldn't we judge MPs by their track record instead?
We didn’t enter politics to play village gossip. We came to build a better system, not to tear down individuals
Stop the Witch-Hunt
This is character assassination, not accountability.
If you have evidence, bring it. If not, stop the smear campaign.
Because when we allow jealousy to masquerade as justice, we lose the moral ground we claim to stand on.
Hon. Ngala Gerard deserves the same scrutiny as any public servant, not more, not less.
Let’s raise the standard of our political discourse. Let’s reject intimidation, tribalism, and envy.
Let’s build a politics of ideas, integrity, and impact. Let's stand against the politics of witch-hunting and jealousy" - Taa Nformi Pascal Wakili.
No pay attention, Honorable Ngala Gerard replied after this message above with this:
Honorable Ngala 🗣️
"My dear Brother,
Hardly would you see me respond to messages here, but I decided to reply to yours because it is misleading. Make no mistake, I don’t deal with taxpayers’ money. The only money I have ever earned from the Government of Cameroon is my salary as a Member of Parliament, which I truly deserve.
I have paid approximately 3 billion (3,000,000,000) FCFA in taxes and customs duties to the State of Cameroon within the past two years, money that has helped to pay the salaries of many civil servants who now insult me on social media. Most of them don't understand what it takes to pay more than 900 workers every month. That is to take care of their salaries, Social insurance and personal income tax.
I live my life the way it suits me because I owe no one an explanation, I haven’t stolen a franc from the government coffers, nor have I ever had the privilege to manage public funds. Therefore, I have no reason not to live as I please, regardless of what a few may think.
Talking about elections in Nkambe. Do I feel great about the election results in Nkambe, where I served as President of the CPDM Campaign Team? I would say yes and no.
Yes, because we (the CPDM) won with over 4,272 votes compared to a little over 2,123 votes for Tchiroma.
No, because I was expecting a turnout of more than 10,000 people based on the scale of the campaign I led, compared to the 6,835 who eventually voted. I also expected the CPDM to win with a margin of over 75%, which was not the case. But that’s how elections go sometimes.
I was also disappointed with the number of votes the FSNC received, considering they were never active on the field but that’s politics. People are free to vote for whichever party they choose, and that’s the true spirit of democracy in Nkambe". - Hon Ngala Gerard
