HOW MAYOR TANJONG MARTIN'S ACHIEVEMENTS COULD MAKE CPDM WIN NEXT ELECTIONS IN TUBAH SUBDIVISION
*By The Watchdog Tribune Political Desk*
In Tubah, politics is no longer about slogans. It is about roads, water, light, farms, and jobs. And if the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, wins big in the next Municipal, Legislative and Presidential elections in Tubah, it will be on the back of one man — Mayor Tanjong Martin.
In a Subdivision once seen as opposition stronghold, Tanjong Martin has done what no other Mayor has done: make the CPDM visible through concrete.
*1. From 811 Million to 6.9 Billion: A Budget That Tells a Story*
When Tanjong took over, Tubah Council was budgeting under 800 million. Today, he just adopted a *6.979 Billion FCFA 2026-2028 Programme Budget* — first ever three-year programme budget in the North West.
2026 alone is 3.9 Billion — a 20.3% increase from 2025. Why? Because he secured:
- *Austria Soft Loan of over 5 Billion* for a multipurpose shopping mall in Bambili, integrated health centres across Tubah, and a modern market
- *FEICOM 600 Million* for low-cost housing
- *Australian Partnership 18.5 Billion soft loan* for four flagship projects: a Technical Centre (one of only 3 in Cameroon), an ultramodern hospital plus 4 feeder hospitals, a modern shopping mall, and feeder markets in all villages
No Mayor in Mezam has ever attracted such international capital. The people see it.
*2. 86 Projects That Touch Every Village*
In his mid-term balance sheet, Tanjong listed over 86 completed projects from 2020-2025:
- *Roads:* CCAST Street to Katika Junction (HIMO), Ngophana bridge, Mbih bridge, Ntah-Achi farm-to-market road, 2.5km road to Mushongmabuh touristic site, roads paved with ecological bricks made from recycled plastic — Tubah is second in Cameroon after Dschang in plastic recycling
- *Health:* Mini-mortuary in Bambili now functional, handled 33 corpses and generated 1.8 Million FCFA, reducing pain of transporting corpses to Bamenda. CMA Bambili mortuary being finalized.
- *Light & Water:* Extension of electricity to Nchoken and Ngophana, extension of water in Bambili, solar street lights from Four Corners Bambui to Three Corners Bambili, 6 boreholes
- *Education:* Rehabilitation of GS Ntembang, GS Nchoken, classrooms, benches
*3. The Human Face — Why Youth and Women Will Vote CPDM*
- *Agriculture:* 200,000 cassava cuttings distributed to encourage gari production, 15,000 fingerlings, piglets, organic manure — free farming season launch every year
- *Youth:* 168 youths given holiday jobs yearly with certification and celebration, birth certificates now free for new-borns, assistance with court judgments and ID cards
- *Vulnerable:* Crutches to persons with disabilities, hospital bills paid, support to needy
He told councillors: _"Time will pass and we too will pass away, but Tubah will remain. We must fix it."_
*4. Awards That Give CPDM Moral Authority*
- *Cameroon's Best Mayor Award* at International Summit in Kigali, Rwanda (2024)
- *CENPA Local Development Champion 2026*
- Finance Committee applauded his accounts — Council budgeted 789.87M in 2024 and realized 976.23M. All 30 councillors voted for his accounts.
*5. How This Translates to CPDM Victory*
In Tubah, the CPDM used to campaign with manifestos. Today, Tanjong campaigns with *evidence*:
- Every paved road with plastic bricks = argument that CPDM recycles waste into development
- Every farmer who got free cassava = CPDM vote in Bambili, Bambui, Kedjom
- Every youth who got holiday job = a family that sees CPDM as employer, not party
- Every corpse kept in Bambili instead of Bamenda = a bereaved family that remembers who built the mortuary
His own words after the last elections: _"The recent CPDM victory is testimony to the loyalty of both our councillors and population."_
*The Political Equation:*
If CPDM fields Tanjong Martin's team again, the party will not need to explain ideology. The people will vote the road they trek, the water they drink, and the market they sell in.
In a Subdivision where university students, farmers, bike riders and traditional rulers all have direct benefits from the Council, *development is the best campaign poster.*
And that is why, analysts say, the road to CPDM victory in Tubah in the next elections passes through Mayor Tanjong Martin's balance sheet.
