WHY THE PEOPLE OF THE NORTH WEST REGION SEE HON. NJINGUM MUSA AS BEST MP OF THE DECADE!!!*
*By The Watchdog Tribune*
In a region that has seen many politicians run away when bullets flew, one man stayed. In a decade when schools closed, markets burnt, and ghost towns swallowed Mondays, one MP remained the political compass of his people.
His name: Hon Dr Njingum Musa — Questor of the National Assembly, MP for Ngoketunjia North.
They call him *The Political Iroko of Ngoketunjia, The Golden Hero, The Father of All.* And when North Westerners say he is the Best MP of the Decade, they are not praising — they are testifying.
1. When Others Fled, He Stood for Peace*
Newspapers put it bluntly:
"When bullets flew, explosives threatened, ghost towns stopped schools, lockdown crippled life and pseudo-generals pushed the people into nadir, but Hon Dr Njingum Musa was there."
While fair-weather politicians waited in Yaounde and Douala, Njingum Musa invested his time, his money and his life to reverse separatist activities in Ngoketunjia.
- He personally talked to youths brainwashed by separatist ideology and convinced dozens to drop guns and go to DDR Centres.
- He re-echoed President Paul Biya's peace message in every village, not in press conferences, but face-to-face.
- Result: School resumption in Ngoketunjia North, markets functioning again, health centres reopened, community thrift schemes (njangis) and farms back.
No other MP in the North West can claim he brought his constituency back to life during war.
2. Demystifying Politics – Service, Not Slogans*
Njingum Musa has a rare gift — he made politics about service.
- *Farm inputs:* Donated improved seeds, fertilizers to farmers across Babessi, Bamunka, Babungo, Bamessing
- *Youth empowerment:* Sponsored hundreds of youth in vocational training, skills acquisition, driving schools, tailoring
- *Electricity:* When the Bamunka transformer blew and left whole quarters in darkness, Hon Njingum Musa bought a *new transformer with his own money* — the population says this single act proved he has the people at heart
- *Roads:* He took the cry of the people about the terrible Bambili – Kedjom Ketingu – Bamunka – Bamessing road to the highest competent authorities and promised reconstruction — the project is now on pipeline
3. Sports as a Weapon for Unity*
He created the *Bamunka Peace & Unity Cup and the Babessi Peace Tournament* — not just football, but reconciliation festivals.
Cash prizes, jerseys, trophies across senior and youth categories. But the real prize: ex-fighters playing beside farmers, IDPs playing beside students.
"I know the hardships we have all gone through. I know it is not yet over but peace will fully return to this Division." — Hon Njingum at Bamunka
4. 15 Years of Unbroken Love — The Father Figure*
In over 15 years at the National Assembly, his popularity never dropped — even at the height of the crisis when being CPDM was a death warrant.
Why?
- He never changed his number
- He never locked his door
- He is political godfather, peace crusader, communal umbrella
In June 2025, he even plucked a bigwig of the SDF in the North West and brought him to CPDM — proof that his political mastery is still feared. The SDF itself admitted: "Efforts made by Hon Njingum Musa are contributing to return to normalcy."
5. International Recognition, Local Humility*
In July 2025, a Ghanaian University — African Institute of Church Project Management and Ministry — conferred an *Honorary PhD* on him for sustainable development, promotion of peace and living together.
His response shocked all: _"I am embarrassed by the award."_
That is Njingum Musa — an Iroko who bows.
*Conclusion: Why Best MP of the Decade?
Other MPs build halls. Njingum Musa built *peace.*
Other MPs share rice during campaigns. Njingum Musa shared *transformers, farm inputs and forgiveness during war.*
Other MPs represent a constituency. Njingum Musa *is the constituency.*
In Ngoketunjia, Bamenda, Bui, Mezam, people say the same thing:
> If all North West MPs were like Njingum Musa, there would have been no crisis.
That is why the people of the North West Region see *Hon. Njingum Musa as BEST MP OF THE DECADE!!!*
End/...
