Rice farmers in Toukou Village, Yagoua Subdivision, Mayo Danay, Far North Region receives relief assistance from President Biya!
Atanga Nji Paul, Minister of Territorial Administration, flanked by local administrative, elected officials, religious, traditional and development stakeholders personally oversees the handing over of financial assistance from President Paul Biya to affected rice farmers of the Mayo Danay Division.
A total of 8749 rice farmers are affected in Yagoua and Maga. Of the total, 4398 farmers were affected in Yagoua while 4351 were affected in Maga.
In his address to the affected farmers, the MINAT boss said contrary to rumours that the money was to be deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, the Head of State has decided that the farmers should be paid in cash and no dime should be deducted from their money. He said it was a special birthday gift to them, given that February 13 is the birthday of the Head of State.
He cautioned them to avoid chaos, preach peace and living together, requesting the leaders of the various communities to always use legal and administrative means to present their problems.
