Atanga Nji Paul, Minister of Territorial Administration receives in audience Ewane Roland, the released Divisional Officer of Idabato The DO who was released yesterday, March 17, 2025 was accompanied to the audience with MINAT by Okalia Bilai, Governor of the South West Region, Gilbert Baldena Guibai, Senior Divisional Officer for Ndian and the wife of the DO.

Atanga Nji Paul said it was with joy that he was announcing the release of the DO from captivity  where he had been detained for many months, given that he was kidnapped by pirates in October 2024.

Minister Atanga Nji Paul stated that  immediately the DO was abducted, the Head of State, President Paul Biya gave firm instructions to government to  put in place all what was needed to secure his release. He added that on many occasions Parliamentarians had quizzed him the Minister of Territorial Administration about the whereabouts of the abducted DO, and he told them all was being put in place for his release.

The MINAT boss said the abducted Divisional Officer went through torture and a lot of deprivation, but he remained confident, knowing that the State was with him as well as his family and friends that put him in prayers. The MINAT boss said the released DO will undergo thorough medical checkup and medical follow up to beef up his health.
