Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development's Working Visit to the Littoral Region
Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry, the Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, toured a number of cement plants and quarries in the Sanaga Maritime division.

The first stop was the SINAFCIM cement plant. This company aims to produce one million tonnes of CIMACO brand cement and is also striving to create more than 200 jobs.
Similarly, Central Africa Cement (CAC) plans to produce one million five hundred thousand tonnes of cement annually.

Yousheng Cement, located on the banks of the Dibamba River, is targeting an annual capacity of one million eight hundred thousand tonnes.
All of these developments suggest that Cameroon is well on its way to becoming a cement-exporting country.

Also on the agenda was a tour of several quarries, including the Coastal Mining Company (SMC) and Huayan Pierre.
During the meeting, Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry presented and advocated for the implementation of standard specifications to be applied to all quarries in Cameroon. The terms of reference include social projects to be carried out during the quarrying period, the payment of damages caused by the quarries, the payment of secure waybills as provided for in the Finance Act, and so on.

At the end of the day, the Minister expressed his satisfaction and called on all parties to adhere strictly to the terms of reference and to cooperate effectively with local authorities.
Quarry managers were given three months to comply with these guidelines.

This working visit to the Sanaga Maritime division took place in the presence of the Senior Divisional Officer, the Divisional Officer, as well as administrative and traditional authorities.

This visit to the Littoral region will continue until 21 March 2025.
