Discussions between the two personalities focused on the following key areas:
• A review of ongoing projects jointly implemented by MINMIDT and UNDP;

• The promotion of value chains for other mineral resources such as iron, gold, and bauxite, with the aim of ensuring that all segments of Cameroonian society benefit from the opportunities created by the growth of the secondary and tertiary sectors in mining.
H.E. OPIA MENSA KUMAH reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment to supporting Cameroon through the provision of its technical expertise.
In response, the Minister expressed appreciation for the initiative to enhance collaboration between the two institutions. He presented recent legislative advancements introduced in the new mining code, highlighting the benefits it offers, as well as technological innovations aimed at restructuring the small scale mining sector.
