What is Driving the CPDM's Big Push Ahead of the North West Regional Elections?

The ruling CPDM party officially launched its campaign for the November 30 Regional Elections in Bamenda yesterday, with former Prime Minister Philemon Yang leading the charge. Addressing party officials and councillors, the central theme of his message was unity and a collective effort to continue the party's development agenda.

The campaign's main focus was centered on the achievements of the North West Regional Assembly over the past 5 years. The Key achievements highlighted include the execution of 244 public investment projects in health, education, and infrastructure, alongside over 300 community level projects that created local jobs.

Major investments were spotlighted, such as new emergency medical centers at the Bamenda Regional Hospital and Nkambe Regional Hospital Annex, alongside the ongoing construction of the regional administrative headquarters in Bamenda.

With the CPDM list running unchallenged for the House of Divisional Representatives, the party's primary goal is to encourage a high voter turnout. This, they believe, will reinforce the election's legitimacy and reaffirm the CPDM's mandate to lead the ongoing decentralization process in the region.
