Byline: The lion's FACE MEDIA

In the pantheon of Cameroon’s emerging leaders, few names resonate with the force and depth of Hon. Ngala Gerald Ndombang. The Member of Parliament for Nkambe Central Constituency in Donga Mantung Division has carved a unique space for himself—not merely as a politician, but as a veritable bridge linking development to his people. From the bustling streets of Douala, where he is a respected community mobiliser, to the remote villages of the North West Region, his presence is felt as a unifying force. Described by community leaders as a “cultural bulldozer with deep-rooted moral values” and a pillar in times of both joy and sorrow, Hon. Ngala Gerald stands as a testament to what dedicated leadership can achieve. He has consistently demonstrated that service knows no tribal or linguistic boundaries, embracing all who cross his path with a generosity that has become his hallmark. The Lion’s FACE MEDIA  finds itself without adequate words to capture the full measure of the man—a personality whose efforts in national development merit the highest salute.

Hon. Ngala Gerald’s role as a bridge to development is not a mere political slogan; it is etched in tangible achievements that have transformed lives across his constituency and beyond. His relentless advocacy bore fruit when the Nkambe Council was named among the Five Best Model Councils in Cameroon for 2024 Project Execution by the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT), clinching a prestigious 50 million FCFA award. Receiving the prize on behalf of the people, he pledged to channel the funds into income-generating projects for youth, women, and internally displaced persons, affirming that “it is peace that has enabled us to execute projects effectively and reach this level of recognition”. Beyond council accolades, he has personally intervened in critical infrastructure, famously pledging to ensure a tarred road from Kumbo to Misaje before his tenure ends. As a champion of peace, he has rallied thousands of Northwesterners in Douala to seal a historic peace pact with the Ngondo community, urging all to view Douala as their “second home” and to reject the false promises that once led to instability. His commitment to education is equally profound—from donating didactic materials worth millions to students to offering FCFA one million to equip the newly created Government Technical College in Tabenken, Hon. Ngala Gerald leaves no stone unturned in building a future for his people.

A man of law and deep compassion, Hon. Ngala Gerald embodies the legal mind that Cameroon needs in its quest for justice. In September 2024, at the age of 46, he was sworn in as an Advocate-in-Training of the Cameroon Bar Association, fulfilling a childhood dream to fight for social justice. His journey to the Bar was no small feat—he emerged among 649 successful candidates at the April 2024 Bar Exams and took his oath at the Wouri High Court in Douala. But for him, the legal profession was never about money. “I am not coming to the Cameroon Bar Association for money,” he declared firmly. “My aim is to defend the less privileged,” he reiterated, adding that he has come “to defend the vulnerable, less privileged and underprivileged whose rights are trampled upon daily”. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Private Law with First Class Honours from the University of Douala, a Diploma in Circular Economy from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and an Advanced Diploma in Business Management from the London Sterling Business School, he is equipped with an intellectual arsenal that now extends to the courtroom. As a member of the Constitutional Laws Committee of the National Assembly and President of the Parliamentary Network for Circular Economy, his legal acumen enriches the legislative process, ensuring that the voices of his constituents are heard in the hallowed halls of Yaoundรฉ.

Beyond the politics and the law stands the business guru—a super-class entrepreneur whose enterprises have become a lifeline for hundreds of Cameroonians. As Founder and Managing Director of Jerry Sarl, a Douala-based multibillion chain of businesses operating in building construction and maritime activities, he employs over 300 people. His business empire is not merely about profit; it is a vehicle for empowerment, offering training and job opportunities to members of his constituency and the nation at large. Born on January 20, 1978, in the remote village of Mbot near Nkambe town, Ngala Gerard rose from humble beginnings through sheer determination and an unshakable belief in the power of education. Today, he stands as a towering figure—a man who has not forgotten his roots. The Wimbum community in Douala has pledged its unalloyed support to him, recognising his immense contribution to their development. Whether it is empowering school-going children, supporting women, or fostering local development, his actions speak louder than words. The Lion’s FACE MEDIA salutes this son of Cameroon—a man who, irrespective of tribe or linguistic background, has always been there for his people, a generous father and a visionary leader whose legacy will endure for generations.
