NAIROBI, KENYA | November 3, 2026
Cameroonian entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Dreamland Connect PLC, Edison Fru Ndi, has been honoured at the 7th Global Changemakers Awards in Nairobi, Kenya, in the category of Outstanding Leadership in Community Development.
Presented by Project 100 on November 3, 2026, the distinction recognises his contribution to social impact. The accompanying certificate honours his work in this field, while the commemorative plaque highlights his leadership in community development.
The recognition reflects a business journey connecting enterprise development with infrastructure delivery, employment creation and community support, particularly in Cameroon’s conflict-affected North-West Region.
Through Dreamland Connect PLC, Fru Ndi has invested across construction, telecommunications, hospitality and industrial production. His work demonstrates how locally rooted businesses can contribute to economic activity and community recovery while operating under challenging conditions.
Among his notable recent undertakings is the construction of the North-Western Mutan Market at Mile 6 Nkwen, in Bamenda’s industrial zone. A North-West Regional Assembly project valued at approximately CFA 411 million, the facility comprises 54 market sheds, solar-powered electricity, a borehole with a 10,000-litre water storage capacity and sanitation infrastructure. Completed through Dreamland Connect, it provides infrastructure to support trade and local livelihoods.
His contribution to reconstruction also extends to education. Working with the United Nations Development Programme under the Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development, his company rehabilitated 27 classrooms across seven blocks at Government Bilingual High School Bamenda and supplied 810 benches alongside other educational infrastructure. Fru Ndi also supported additional improvements to the school using personal resources.
In July 2026, following a fire incident at the Bamenda Regional Hospital, he provided assistance valued at CFA 3.5 million to help sustain services at the health facility.
His investments in quarrying and aggregate production have also supported construction activity and created employment opportunities for young people, contributing to livelihoods within the region.
These undertakings give practical context to the Nairobi award’s emphasis on outstanding leadership in community development. They illustrate the contribution entrepreneurs can make through public infrastructure delivery, productive investment and direct community assistance.
The international honour follows other recognition of Fru Ndi’s work. In September 2026, he received the North-West Development Pillar Award from the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association (CENPA), acknowledging his contribution to economic development and reconstruction in the region.
His entrepreneurial journey was also recently documented in BLISS Magazine’s 15th Collector’s Edition, titled From Dust to Dynasty: The Man, The Impact, The Legacy. The 120-page commemorative publication, which marked the magazine’s transition from digital publishing to print, explored his business milestones, investments and contributions to community development.
Together, these recognitions draw attention to a career whose significance extends beyond commercial achievement to the people, institutions and communities supported through his work.
For the North-West Region, Fru Ndi’s recognition in Nairobi offers an opportunity to spotlight the role of indigenous entrepreneurs in rebuilding communities, sustaining employment and advancing development.
The Outstanding Leadership in Community Development distinction places his contribution within a wider international conversation about how business leadership can translate investment into lasting social impact.
